SACYN presents webinar on COVID’s Financial Crisis: Seeking Hope in Dark Times

COVID-19 pandemic may have started out as a healthcare crisis but the fear of the virus, social distancing and lockdowns have impacted livelihoods of a whole generation of people. The argument between life and livelihood has happened in the backdrop of large dislocation in migrant labour, fall in economic growth and losses of jobs. In South Asian countries, the disparities between the rich and the poor have never been starker. Those with resources have been able to adapt, move to work-from-home and maintain their livelihoods while on the other hand, it is the poor who have had to risk their lives to put bread on the table. In an unprecedented pandemic that we have never witnessed before, which prevents us from actually stepping out of our homes, how do we find silver linings? We will be exploring on this question through our panelists from spiritual, theological and practical lenses.
